I care deeply about students, public education, and the communities that make up SD62 (Sooke).

After a career as a teacher, vice-principal, and principal, I’m running for school trustee because I believe my experience can make a meaningful contribution at the Board table.  I know the challenges facing schools, but I also know that good leadership starts with listening.  I want to hear from our communities, ask the right questions, and help make thoughtful decisions that put students and public education at the centre.

SD62 (Sooke) is growing and changing. Our schools need resources and planning that keep pace with the needs of students and the communities they serve. I want to make sure the voices of students, families, educators, and staff are heard.

I believe my experience can make a meaningful contribution.

I’ve spent 25 years working in our school district as a teacher, vice-principal, and principal. I’ve also experienced our schools as a student, parent, PAC volunteer, and now grandparent.

I bring a thoughtful, independent voice.

As a first-time trustee candidate, I will bring an open mind, relevant experience, and a willingness to learn. I will listen carefully, consider different perspectives, ask challenging questions, and make decisions based on what I believe will best serve students and our communities.

I will advocate for students and our communities.

I support quality public education and will work with all government levels for the resources our schools need to help create positive opportunities for every student to learn and succeed.
